A hectic day in Stoke-on-Trent and Stockport

Having rung around Stoke-on-Trent earlier in the week, I was pleased to find a lot of interest in my sample entry option, but dismayed to find how many parlours had shut down. I was already aware that Abby's, Caesars, Rachel's, Adele's and Palm Springs had or were about to close down. Little did I expect to find Abigail's, Fingertips, Whispers and I suspect Sunset Spa and Emma's following in their footsteps. Overall, because of the tactics of the Vice Squad, who less than a year ago were telling me personally that they had no problem with the vast majority of Potteries' parlours, more than half of the city's parlours have closed down, including some very notable establishments. The tactic, and the council are equally if not more to blame, is to threaten the landlords with dire consequences if they do not give their tenants notice and the majority unsurprisingly to play it safe, even if it means their properties then become empty or even derelict and the street problem in Cobridge becomes worse.

Nevertheless a number still remain, including C.J.'s now renamed Unit 10 and the two luxury parlours practically next door to one another in Hartshill, Diva's and the Head Office.

I kicked off the day visiting Unit 10. New management have taken over, Marie having decided to call it a day and the new boss, Sheila, is a lady who recognised me from a few years back, when she was working elsewhere, though in all honesty I could not remember her. She was keen on the sample entry idea and went for it and then I headed around to see Fiona at the Head Office. She is very pregnant, indeed is expecting any day now and she was impressed, but needed to run the idea before the real powers that be at this, undoubtedly the most luxurious parlour in the city.

I now rang both Alicia's in Crewe and both Virgo's and Whispers in Northwich. At all three the lady I needed to see was not around, and as it turned out that was perhaps as well, since I now headed up to Stockport, to make my biggest sale yet of the sample entry option. Cheshire Companions is the North West's leading escort agency, the lady who runs things being a larger than life character and very astute businesswoman by the name of Jane. Like me she has been on the television a number of times and was happy to be considered for any new programme, but we shall wait to see if the company want to use her. She was keen to put her entries for not only Cheshire Companions, but three sister operations up on various pages for a year and we agreed terms without too much difficulty.

Ironically, just as I was coming to the end of preparing the sample entries for them, my website's server, an American firm that had been found for me by my computer advisors, Rob and Lee, decided to play tricks on me and go on the blink. Not long afterwards everything was back to normal, but I did not realise this until I took a break in the middle of that evening's bridge session, which was where I headed over to when after trying to finalise everything I had to give up because of the server.

Meanwhile I had hoped to visit Diva's, the other luxury parlour in Hartshill. Liz the boss, was going to be asleep most of the day, having done a night shift the night before and was going to be doing another such shift the following night, so I had arranged to go and see her last thing. The extended stay in Stockport rendered that impossible, but I knew she was keen, and so I rang her from the bridge club, when I was sitting out a round. She was not there, but they had the money ready and wanted to proceed, I had meanwhile checked the server was back to normal and so after an average sort of bridge session in Telford, I headed back to Stoke, where I made a successful sale in little more than fifteen minutes, including updating the entry.

All in all a very successful, but very tiring day and the following day it was off to Bristol!!!
