We take links very seriously, since a large amount of our traffic comes from reciprocal links we hold with other sites.
Linking to Us
On this page you will find a number of banners which you are welcome to use in linking to McCoy's Guide.
Linking Options
We offer three types of link:
Standard links page link - a link on the links page, or one of the subcategories of that page depending on your site content.
Members section location link - a link visible to paid-up McCoy's Guide members on the location of your choice.
Free section location link - as above but visible to all and sundry who visit the site.
We'll swap a link on your links page for a link on our links page. If your site is regional and you give us a good link (i.e. not lost at the bottom of a huge banner farm) email me and I'll put you a location link in the members section of the guide. If you give us a really good, prominent link, e.g. front page, email me for a location link in the free section.
Location links are additional to links page links by the way, so you'll effectively have two links.
If you want a link in the free section but don't have a website or don't want to put a banner for another site on your front page, email George for details of our very reasonable paid link scheme.
Finally, large sites sending lots of traffic through a relatively small link are welcome to email me for a location link of your choice, if it's a regional site.
A note about text links
We are very fond of text links and recommend them to webmasters interested in high search engine rankings - Google is famous for its PageRank technology and uses a count of pages linking to your site in compiling this index. In order for the link to rank, there needs to be some relevant text in the link, so for this purpose a text-only link containing the name of your site or your top keyword will do wonders. Also, people are generally more likely to click on a a text link if it's complementary.
Parlours in the Guide
Parlours rated four or five may display the buttons at the bottom of this page to indicate this, preferably linked to the guide - we recommend you link to your location. Members will then be able to log in at that page and read your review.
Please note that in all linking arrangements, no preference is given to higher-rated parlours. A link is a link and even better, a good website will help a prospective punter make their own mind up.
